Research

We explore how aquatic ectotherms — especially fish — respond to various natural and human-induced environmental stressors such as temperature fluctuations, salinity changes, hypoxia, altered flows and toxicants.

We take an integrative approach, combining laboratory experiments, field studies and quantitative techniques to examine various aspects of animal physiology, including metabolic rates, cardiac performance, and swimming performance. The projects in the lab are designed to generate insights to improve our fundamental understanding and to inform conservation and management practices in fish and aquatic ecosystems.

Check out the lab’s website for more details and a list of publications.
